Our 60th Charity Home Donated To The Lighthouse Foundation

10th June 2016

Henley has partnered with the Lighthouse Foundation and Property Industry Foundation to build a home for homeless and at risk young people in Melbourne.

Building homes is what we do best, but at Henley we are just as committed to building better futures. We have always had a strong commitment towards supporting children and giving back to the local community, and by partnering with the Property Industry Foundation we have been able to build a home which will change the lives of young people for decades to come.

This 6 bedroom house will be a home for 4 young people and 2 live-in carers, alongside a dedicated team of psychologists and health professionals.

The grand opening of the home was on Monday 6th June 2016. The Deputy Mayor of Moreland, Lita Gillies joined representatives from the Property Industry Foundation, Lighthouse Foundation and Henley as we cut the ribbon and handed over the keys to this life changing property.

Henley would like to thank all our suppliers and tradespeople for their support to make this project possible over the past 18 months. Hundreds of hours were dedicated to ensuring the home allowed underprivileged young people the ability to ‘feel at home’ and acts as a stepping stone in eradicating homelessness.

Henley’s philanthropy commitment will continue into 2017 and beyond, as we strive to make a difference in our local community and around the world.
