Philanthropy

We give back to make our community a better place

From the very early days, our directors have been committed to building a better future for our community.
This started as a plan to donate $10,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital in Victoria, to help save sick kids. The work the hospital does touches the lives of the families of our team, trades and suppliers.

They soon realised they could do more, bringing together volunteer land partners, trades and suppliers to build and donate a completed home for the Good Friday Appeal. Shortly after, this program commenced in Queensland supporting The Mater Little Miracles Foundation.

We are overwhelmed with the generosity of all the trades and suppliers who volunteer their time and resources, which means 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these homes are received by the hospitals.

The sale of the 2024 Good Friday Appeal Charity Home and 2023 My Room Children’s Cancer Charity Home has seen us donate the 78th and 79th Henley home to a charitable cause, an achievement made possible through partnerships with like-minded tradespeople and suppliers.

We are incredibly proud to work side by side with these colleagues and we treasure the opportunity to help in such a way.

Overall, the total value of money raised and donated by Henely is now over $35 million. We have achieved this in 35 years and will continue to work locally, nationally and internationally to support our vision for positive change.

We believe it's such a good thing to do  - the right thing to do, and if we manage to save one baby's life, then it makes it all worth it"

Philanthropic Programs

Our philanthropic program is all about opportunity - to give people a chance in life and a helping hand where one is needed. Our philanthropic work proves just how much can be achieved when individuals band together towards a vision of change.

Australian Prostate Centre

Henley has joined forces with the Australian Prostate Centre’s to help put Prostate Cancer front of mind to all Australians.

As part of the Improve Your Odds campaign, Henley supports the Australian Prostate Centre annually. This year the Catanach’s Caulfield Charity Family Day will be held 21st September at Caulfield Racecourse.

Henley has been a proud supporter of the Australian Prostate Centre since 2020.

Good Friday Appeal

The Good Friday Appeal home auction represents an achievement of over 30 years building and donating homes, now raising over $20 million for the Good Friday Appeal. The initiative began in 1993.

Our relationship with the Good Friday Appeal has seen 45 homes auctioned. Which has helped contribute to fund, technology and education and training programs for health care workers plus so much more.

Eating Disorders Victoria

2024 marks the beginning of our partnership with Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV). Eating disorders affect over 1.1 million Australians but are not as openly discussed as other illnesses. Partnering with the Melbourne Mavericks we aim to raise awareness to eating disorders and shine a light on an organisation supporting individuals and families.

EDV provide comprehensive support and information on all aspects of eating disorders, providing a blend of clinical and non-clinical support services through qualified professionals and lived experience of employees and volunteers. Supporting Victorians through at every stage from discovery to recovery.

Every dollar raised by the Home For A Cure is donated and provides essential financial assistance, emotional support, fund critical care roles and research into research for childhood cancers with low survival rates.

Our first house in Officer sold for $1,100,000 with the second home going to auction on 14 September 2024.

TIACS & TradeMutt

TIACS is a free phone and text counselling service offering mental health support to Australia’s blue collar community. This began with the realisation that there were too many barriers to receiving free mental health support, and through their out-of-the-box solution of funky hi-vis workwear (TradeMutt), their aim is to start the conversation.

Henley’s partnership with TradeMutt began in February 2022, with 2,500 Henley tradies nationwide donning colourful tradie workwear, as part of its growing national wellbeing program to start a conversation about mental health. This also forms part of Henley’s ‘Building Healthy Minds’ health and wellbeing program, urging tradies to talk about their mental health and wellbeing, one conversation at a time.

Fast forward to 2024, and the partnership between Henley and TradeMutt will see over 5,000 trades and Henley Homes (Vic and SA), Plantation Homes (QLD) and Edgewater Homes (NSW) team members, don the colourful workwear which reflects a shared commitment to fostering mental health awareness and support within the construction industry.

Henley is now a Diamond partner, playing a significant role, contributing more than $120,000 to TIACS, which equates to an additional 1,300 hours of conversations and counselling. With the construction industry making up a quarter of the calls in 2023, Henley is determined in supporting all tradies.

We're proud to invest in our industry, team and community for better mental health and look forward to continuing to work alongside TradeMutt and TIACS.
