HomeBuilder Grant Extended

1st December 2020

Ho ho ho…The HomeBuilder Grant has been extended!

We’re thrilled to see Christmas has arrived early for some home buyers, with the Federal Government announcing that the deadline for The HomeBuilder Grant has been extended until 31 March 2021!

Economic response to the Coronavirus

According to the Australian Treasury, The Homebuilder Grant provides eligible owner-occupiers (including first home buyers) with a grant to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home. This also assists the residential construction sector by encouraging the commencement of new home builds and renovations.

Originally slated to end on 31 December, the Government has confirmed an extension to the HomeBuilder program.

More than the economy

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that it wasn’t just about the economy “We’re keeping people in jobs and putting Australians’ dream homes within reach.”

Which is great news for you if you’re looking at building a new house – and we have plenty on offer with house and land packages, knock down and rebuild options, and Completed homes!

If you’re looking for some specific floorplan inspiration, the Carmelle, Emperor and Cohen are Henley favourites!

The details

For all new build contracts signed between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021:

  • Eligible owner-occupier purchasers will receive a $15,000 HomeBuilder; and
  • The property price caps for new builds in Victoria will be increased to $850,000.

In addition, the construction commencement deadline will be extended from three months to six months for all eligible contracts signed on or after 4 June 2020.
