Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

13th June 2013

Working at Henley Philanthropy

Did you know that 1 in every 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85?

For 20 years, the Cancer Council has encouraged people across Australia to boil their kettles, bake some goodies and host a morning tea, with the aim to raise vital funds to help beat cancer.

Over this time, Australia’s Biggest Morning tea has helped raise over $110 million dollars for the charity, which has helped increase the survival rate for many common cancers by 30 per cent. All funds raised from the Morning Tea, will support the Cancer Council’s vital work in cancer research, education programs and patient support services.

This year, Henley Properties held their very own Morning Tea on Thursday 6 June at head office. Staff overindulged in deliciously baked cakes, slices, cupcakes and chocolate goods and enjoyed taking the time out knowing they were contributing to a great cause.

Through gold coin donations, raffles and direct donations, Henley staff raised a whopping $3900 for the charity, which has been kindly matched dollar for dollar by the Henley Directors. This brings our overall fundraising total to an incredible $7,800!

Thanks to everyone that contributed to the event and helped raise much needed funds for this worthy cause.
