Philanthropy

Henley says hello to our community

At Henley, we share a vision around positive change. From the very earliest days our Directors have been committed to building a better future.

2016 saw us donate the 60th Henley home to a charitable cause, an achievement made possible through partnerships with like-minded tradespeople and suppliers. We are incredibly proud to work side by side with these colleagues and we treasure the opportunity to help in such a way. Overall, the total value of money raised and donated by Henley now sits at $23 million dollars. We have achieved this over the past 26 years and will continue to work locally, nationally and internationally to support our vision for change.

We are continually finding new ways to assist the communities in which we work. If you think we can help, don’t hesitate to say hello.

Philanthropic Programs

Our philanthropic program is all about opportunity - to give people a chance in life and a helping hand where one is needed. Our philanthropic work proves just how much can be achieved when individuals band together towards a vision of change.

Good Friday Appeal

2016 marked our 23rd year of supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital. Our relationship with the Good Friday Appeal, has seen 37 homes auctioned and over $13.2 million donated to the Good Friday Appeal. The home sold in 2016 was our best-selling Emperor Belle Q1, and sold for a whopping $663,000. Read more about our involvement with Good Friday Appeal here.

Lighthouse Foundation

In 2016, we proudly partnered with the Property Industry Foundation (PIF) to build a 6 bedroom home in Coburg for the Lighthouse Foundation. This home will provide a safe and nurturing environment for at risk and homeless young people.

Big West Community Festival

We worked with the Big West Community Festival to donate $50,000 worth of materials for the construction of refuge homes for women who have suffered from domestic violence.

Run for the Kids Staff Initiative

40 Henley staff and their friends and family ran the 5km and 16km Run for the Kids course. Henley subsidised the entry cost to encourage a healthy physical and mental well-being.

Feeding the Homeless Staff Initiative

The Big Umbrella is a not-for-profit organisation helping address youth and children impacted by abuse, trafficking, exploitation, forced labour and homelessness. Each year, a team from Henley head into the Melbourne CBD to serve up hot meals to homeless people, and have a chat as well.

Reach Foundation & Child Wise

The Reach Foundation and Child Wise assists in the support of Australian teenagers and children across Australia. Henley has supported these charities over our 26 years of operation.

Breast Cancer Research

Henley has contributed $10,000 towards breast cancer research, particularly to help us gain more insight into the psychological impact of the illness on both patients and carers.

Overseas Endeavours

Henley has proudly funded orphanages and surgery for children in developing nations including Kenya and Cambodia, as well as provided living and educational support, health programs, skills training and microfinance leadership.
